Answer
A fresh chat opening or page refresh shows the latest message’s bottom. Reopening a chat in the same session restores a reading position you chose manually. Sending a message returns you to the bottom.
In People chats, new messages, reactions and growing content stay in view while you are at the bottom. Scrolling up stops this following. In private AI chats, a newly readable answer aligns its beginning near the top where possible. Later previews preserve that position; manually scrolling stops further automatic adjustments.
When connected, returning to a chat can show recently viewed messages while checking for updates, including narration and attachments on older messages. Updates keep messages in order and preserve your reading position. Offline, only previously available content can appear. These behaviors apply to desktop and phone browsers, iOS and Android.
