During setup, Profile Settings asks for your full name and shows Upload Your Photo marked (Optional). Only your name is required. If you choose Done without a photo, Hashchats uses AI to create one for you: a friendly, stylized animal character inspired by your name. Saving can take a little longer while it is made. If it cannot be created, you see Profile Not Saved; try again or upload your own photo.
To use your own photo, select the photo area, choose an image and crop it. On a desktop browser you can also drop an image onto the page. The photo saves as soon as it finishes uploading.
You can replace either photo later from Account Management → Profile Settings, or by tapping your own name or avatar in a chat and choosing Profile or Edit Profile.
Your photo appears with your messages, on your profile card and in some notifications. In Image or Video AI requests, people in your chats can @mention you to use your profile photo as a reference.
