Can I ask for a public hashtag in my message?

Reviewed October 17, 2026

Yes. For an AI request, include # or the word hashtag, such as “Use #drippedOut to recreate this photo” or “Use the dripped out hashtag by Taufiq Husain.” Choose Image for a photo request. A style description can also request a suitable public hashtag.

Answer

Hashchats searches public hashtags of the selected type. Adding a creator name narrows the match. A confirmed match appears with its creator on your request and the AI response. Your original message stays visible. Lookup adds no separate charge.

Private hashtags are not searched this way, even for their owner; use the manual picker. A selected manual or Universal Hashtag takes priority. Typed selection applies once. If no suitable match is found or lookup fails, the request continues without a new hashtag.

Plain style descriptions without # or hashtag, literal output tags, social-media tags, quotes and help questions do not select macros. Lookup preparation supports requests up to 8,000 characters and works for supported live and scheduled requests.
