Can I paste or drag files into a message?

Reviewed October 17, 2026

On web, you can paste images from your clipboard or drag files into the composer. Normal attachment and size limits apply. Nothing sends automatically.

Answer

On updated Android, ordinary Paste can attach a clipboard image; Paste Image remains available when offered. iOS uses native Paste. Web paste uses image data supplied by the browser’s paste event without a separate clipboard read. Explicit Paste Image may still require clipboard permission. If the source app supplies no readable image data, use Attach.

An ordinary pending upload has a Remove control. Removing it cancels that attachment while preserving the rest of your draft and other uploads. A canceled result cannot return. Send waits for active upload work to settle. Native videos keep their own preparation path.

Text mode also supports pasted webpage URLs for AI context. A pasted image link follows the separate image-import rules.
