Open Chat Options → Advanced Options → Universal Hashtags. Choose a default for Text, Image, Video or Audio. Selections save as you make them; Done closes the dialog. Use the clear control for one type, or Reset for all four. These are chat-wide defaults. In a People chat, participants can change them; they are not an admin-only setting. When a default exists for the active type, it takes priority over a manually selected hashtag and hides the composer's # picker. Clear that type's default to select individual hashtags again. Enabling or clearing a default adds a conversation activity in both private AI and People chats, with the hashtag chip and the affected AI type. The plain chat-list preview describes the same change; no push notification is sent. The selection list shows only public hashtags in every chat type, including private AI chats. Private hashtags remain available through the ordinary composer picker.
