Why do some Text answers include photos within the explanation?

Reviewed October 19, 2026

On supporting builds, Text AI can show relevant public images, including photos, maps, diagrams and illustrations, beside the sections they help explain.

Answer

With @ai on and Text selected, ask for an explanation, visual comparison, guide, recipe or article. You do not have to request pictures, but those words alone do not guarantee them. Images are optional, with at most one per illustrated section and no fixed image count. Weak or inaccessible matches may be omitted.

For an existing map, try “Show a map of Vancouver Island and explain where Victoria is.” Text AI searches for an appropriate public image rather than creating a custom interactive map. Real-photo requests still require photographs. If no suitable image can be verified, the answer should explain that and provide useful available sources without claiming that Hashchats cannot display images.

Text-only requests, source-only rewrites, personal writing, code, spoken-only responses and artifact-only requests keep their usual handling. Asking for a photo collection keeps the gallery. Exact business photos require a resolved place identity.

An illustrated answer appears with its final placements after bounded image preparation. No extra inline images are inserted afterward, though downloading them may take time. A failed image can be hidden without blocking the answer. Older apps show readable text and the images in their existing gallery.

Tap an image for the fullscreen viewer. Show Full Message reveals hidden sections where offered. Retrieved images have no Image AI generation charge; image analysis uses ordinary Text tokens. No image count or response time is guaranteed.
