Answer
Narrate reads the text currently displayed to you, including a displayed translation. Choose Show Original first if you want the original language. The resulting audio is a shared attachment, so everyone hears that same language.
Narration can alternate between two voices at complete sentences or logical sections. It adapts its pace and delivery to the content. Narrate is unavailable when a message already has audio, and repeated requests are blocked while it prepares. Other message controls remain available.
You can leave the chat while narration prepares. On updated web, phone browsers, iPhone and Android, returning while connected checks for the finished audio on its original message, including older messages. Offline, only previously available content can appear.
Narrate is separate from music generation and a live voice call. Use Read Along to follow supported narration on screen.
