How do I start a chat with someone?

1. For an existing contact, open their More menu in Contacts and choose Start a New Chat.
2. In a new or existing chat, choose Add People in the header. Select Hashchats contacts, copy an invitation link, send an email invitation or display a QR code.
3. On phone browsers and native mobile apps, Share Invitation Link opens the system share sheet when available, or copies the link. Desktop browsers offer Copy Invitation Link. Native apps can also invite phone contacts by SMS or email.

Invitation links normally last about 24 hours. The recipient must sign in and join. New participants can read the existing history, so check the conversation before sharing it. Selecting an existing contact adds them directly.
