How do I vote in a poll or change my vote?

Reviewed October 22, 2026

Tap an option in a published poll to vote. Choose a different option to change your vote.

Answer

Polls allow one visible vote per person. Existing polls and their results remain available after manual creation was retired. They do not support anonymous votes, multiple selections or a scheduled closing time.

In People chats, a poll with more than four choices first shows four of them and a note such as +3 more options. Select Show Full Message to see and vote for the rest. If you asked for the poll, you see every choice while you stay in the chat after asking. Private AI chats show every choice.

On supporting updated builds, another participant’s first vote in a newly attributed AI poll can notify the person who requested it. Changing a vote does not send another requester alert. Existing delayed AI completion alerts can still apply.

Hashchats is the sender of an AI-created poll. Requesting it does not give you the sender’s right to delete its message. Forwarding makes a separate poll with the same question and choices and no votes.

On updated builds, two sessions saving the same option keep one vote without a false failure or repeat notification. Choosing a different option remains a change. Tapping your selected option opens the voters view.
