How do I create a video?

Reviewed October 19, 2026

With @ai on and Text selected, open the model dropdown beside @ai, scroll to Video Generation and choose Shorts.

Answer

  1. Choose Video Generation → Shorts in the model dropdown beside @ai.
  2. Describe the scene and motion, optionally attach one still image, then send. A video hashtag from # is optional.

You can also keep Text selected and ask “Create a video of waves at sunset.” A clear creation request uses Video and its price while the composer stays on Text.

Shorts makes 5- or 10-second clips with native audio. Five seconds is the default. Explicitly request 10 seconds or longer to select 10; longer requests are capped at 10. At $0.20 per second, these cost $1.00 or $2.00.

Hashchats normally uses Wan 3 at 720p, with MiniMax H3 as a backup. The model is selected automatically and the price stays the same. Request landscape, portrait or square framing, or use a reference photo's framing.

To animate a photo, attach one still image and describe its motion. Video does not accept an uploaded video, audio or document. Asking “How do I create a video?” requests help, not permission to create and bill for one.

You can ask for offscreen narration, dialogue or singing when animating a photo. A reference image can also be combined with research for requested current facts. Public lookup does not receive the reference image or its attachment link, and generated details can still be wrong.
