How do I ask AI to create a PDF or document?

Reviewed October 19, 2026

Keep @ai on and Text selected, then ask for a file: “Create a PDF meeting summary” or “Export your last answer as DOCX.” Hashchats returns a short summary and one downloadable attachment.

Answer

Supported formats are PDF, DOCX, Markdown, TXT, static HTML and CSV for a table. A clear file request without a format defaults to PDF. Legacy DOC and RTF are not native output formats; a clear request for one can receive a PDF instead, identified as PDF. Exports support text and simple tables, without embedded images or exact layout copying.

Files are limited to 10 MiB; PDFs to 50 pages. If a script cannot render in the PDF font, request DOCX, Markdown, TXT or HTML. Translating the chat summary does not translate the attachment. Scheduled Text requests can create documents too.

Creation and source analysis use the usual Text tokens. Conversion is included, with no file minimum or separate media charge. Source analysis already completed can count even if conversion fails. Asking how exports work, quoting an instruction or saying not to create a file does not create one.
